Dr Katrina Frost
Clinical Psychologist

Katrina is a Clinical Psychologist, offering expert services in the assessment and treatment of psychological disorders and syndromes. Drawing from a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, Katrina works to address the unique needs of each individual in order to promote long-term change. Katrina trained in a range of hospital, community-based, and clinical settings and has worked in private practice since 2012. She holds a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and has undertaken additional training in EMDR, Schema Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Katrina specialises in treating chronic conditions and lifelong patterns of dysfunction, particularly those stemming from trauma and attachment issues. She has a particular interest and expertise in treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, sleep disorders, phobias and panic disorder.

Jeremy Cohen
Forensic Counsellor

Jeremy is an forensic counsellor with an extensive background in social work, armed with a Master’s degree in Social Work and accreditation as a Mental Health Social Worker. With over twenty-five years of rich clinical experience across various settings including hospitals, youth justice, mental health rehabilitation, substance misuse services, oncology, and private practice, Jeremy brings a wealth of expertise to his practice.

Jeremy is experienced in providing treatment and support to individuals navigating the complexities of alcohol and drug dependency, gambling and digital addiction, complex trauma and grief, childhood trauma, dual diagnosis, as well as challenges related to anxiety, depression, and interpersonal relationships.

Jeremy employs an eclectic therapeutic approach, utilising evidence-based strategies like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), among others. He is also proficient in Polyvagal Theory for nervous system regulation and Attachment Theory for addressing childhood trauma, ensuring a highly personalised and effective treatment plan that incorporates a broad knowledge of theory and evidence-based practice.

Kyle Miller
Psychologist

Kyle provides forensic treatment at Melbourne Private Psychology. He has several years of experience working with a diverse range of forensic clients, with offence histories including sexual, violent (including family violence), and drug-related (including trafficking). Kyle has undertaken a variety of roles in the forensic sector, including outreach and community support, and within the Melbourne Magistrates' Court and County Court of Victoria. Therapeutically, he has worked with a variety of presentations including depressive and anxious disorders, sleep concerns, adjustment disorders, neurodivergent presentations (including ASD and ADHD), and has a keen interest in personality disorders.

Kyle completed his studies at Monash University and his professional placement within a private practice setting.

He is available for in-person and telehealth consultation on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Sarah de Haan

Sarah de Haan
Clinical Psychologist

Sarah is a Clinical Psychologist experienced in delivering evidence-based treatments for a variety of clinical psychological disorders. She has experience working in hospitals, schools, public mental health settings and has worked in private practice since 2016.

She draws on a wide range of therapeutic modalities to meet her clients’ needs, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. Sarah’s interests are in the areas of depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, trauma and insomnia.

Sarah is a registered Tuning in to Kids facilitator and Circle of Security program facilitator. She enjoys equipping parents with skills they need in order to parent with awareness, confidence and resilience. She is also a Dads Group Ambassador.

Peter Hanley
Director | Psychologist

With nine years in clinical and forensic private practice, Peter has provided offence-specific psychological treatment to hundreds of men charged with criminal offences, regularly providing expert reports for court and with experience providing expert evidence under cross-examination in the Magistrates, County and Supreme Courts of Victoria. He is experienced in assessing and treating a variety of clinical presentations, including anxiety and depression, personality disorders, substance use disorders, paraphilias and behavioural misconduct. He is experienced in assessing risk of violence, sexual violence, and criminal recidivism. He has assisted many men through sex offender treatment and behaviour change in the context of family violence and regularly liaises with Corrections Victoria, the Adult Parole Board, Child Protection, and various agencies and professional licensing organisations.

Peter completed his academic training at Swinburne University of Technology and his professional training under the supervision of Patrick Newton, clinical and forensic psychologist. Beyond his academic training and professional experience, his psychological approach has been informed by his childhood in rural Victoria, 15 years married to a lawyer, fathering of three children, and with his talented wife, co-founding a social enterprise to address educational disadvantage across Melbourne’s western suburbs.

Prudence Cavanagh
Personal Assistant

Prue is currently studying a Bachelor of Psychology at Deakin University. She finds herself drawn to behavioural studies, with a passion for interpersonal relationships and psychology regarding personality.

Driven by her organisational background in leadership programs, Prue is enthusiastic to create a professional, welcoming and highly resourceful experience for clients at Melbourne Private Psychology. Her commitment to helping others, coupled with her growing expertise in psychology, ensures that each client receives compassionate care and support throughout their experience with us.
